After years of being on a soft diet (and sometimes a no-chew or even a liquid diet when my mouth was wired shut), I’ve accumulated a cabinet full of blenders, immersion (stick) blenders, juicers, protein powder, etc. Here are the products I think are essential for TMJ patients….
A great blender is necessary, and the first thing I would buy if I was told I needed to be on a soft diet. I have tried many, and these are my favorite at the moment:
Blendtec Home The Professional’s Choice 1560-Watt Hp3a Blender
Cuisinart BFP-603 SmartPower Deluxe Blender and Food Processor
An immersion blender is really great to have when you are making soups, and they aren’t too expensive either!
KitchenAid Immersion Blender
Juicers can help us get vitamins, fruits, and veggies when we normally wouldn’t.. I highly recommend the Breville, it’s the one I had when I was wired shut:
Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite 1000-Watt Juice Extractor
They have several different price points available (but keep in mind that if you buy the cheapest, you probably aren’t extracting the good stuff out of the fruits/veggies… we learned this the hard way with a cheaper juicer).
Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor
Magic Bullets can be handy to whip up a quick soup/smoothie/etc:
Magic Bullet 25 piece Deluxe Set – New Bullet Extras
If you are on the go all day, this will be your favorite product! We’ve had tons of patients tell us they LOVE these:
Black 28 Oz. Blender Bottle W/wire Shaker Ball
